Why your license shows expired even after taking the class
NY DOS does not auto-update the moment you finish a class. Here is the timing pattern, and what to do if it lingers.
Why your license shows expired even after taking the class
You finished the class. Your status still says EXPIRED on the NY DOS public lookup. This is normal for a few days. Here is why.
How DOS updates
When a DCJS-approved school files a class completion, NY DOS receives the record and processes it in a queue. Public roster updates typically appear within 5 to 10 business days, sometimes faster.
What to do if it is still wrong after 2 weeks
- Email the school that ran the class and ask for the filing confirmation.
- Forward that confirmation to DOS licensing.
- If you trained with Happy Pro, email support@happyprotraining.com with your DOS license number and we will check the filing on our end.
What about the tracker?
We refresh from NY DOS daily. When DOS updates, the tracker picks it up on the next scrape (within 24 hours).
