Happy Pro Security Training ("we", "our", "us") operates the Compliance Alerts service at `happyprotraining.com/compliance`. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What we collect

When you sign up for free license renewal alerts, we collect:

- Your name

  • Your email address
  • Your NY State Security Guard license ID (a public identifier issued by
    • the NY Department of State)
  • Optionally, your phone number (used only to send a single SMS reminder
    • if your license expires)
  • Optionally, your ZIP code and how you heard about us

    We do not collect Social Security numbers, financial information, or

    • government-issued IDs other than the publicly searchable NY DOS license ID.

    How we use it

    - To look up your license status on the NY DOS public roster

  • To send you renewal reminder emails at 90, 60, 30, 14, and 7 days
    • before expiration, and once on expiration day
  • To send a single SMS reminder if your license has expired
  • To occasionally include offers for renewal classes from Happy Pro
    • Security Training (1 in 5 emails at most)
  • To improve the service through anonymized aggregate statistics

    We do not sell your data, rent it, or share it with third parties for

    • their marketing.

    Subprocessors

    We use the following services to operate the platform:

    - Supabase (database, USA) — stores subscriber records

  • Brevo (email sending, EU) — delivers transactional emails
  • Quo (SMS sending, USA) — delivers SMS reminders
  • Vercel (web hosting, USA) — runs the website
  • GitHub Actions (cron jobs, USA) — runs the daily license check

    NY DOS data

    License information is sourced from the New York State Department of

    • State's public licensee roster. We do not host or modify DOS records; we simply scrape and display publicly available data.

    We are not affiliated with NY DOS.

    Your rights

    You can:

    - Unsubscribe at any time via the link in any reminder email

  • Request deletion of all your data by emailing compliance@happyprotraining.com
  • Request a copy of the data we have on you

    Data retention

    Active subscriber records persist while you're subscribed. After

    • unsubscribe, we retain email + DOS license ID for 30 days to prevent duplicate re-signups, then delete.

    Email and SMS logs are retained for 12 months for compliance audit.
